Default My 52C Winchester for Christmas.

Got my self an incredible deal on this 52C winchester for $500. It has the wrong sights but could not pass it up.

The ten shot group was shot at one hundred yards while while trying to zero rifle. I am unable to zero at 25 or 50 yards because it shoots high. The sight it has is for a 540 remington, I need an Olympic or international sight.

Nice rifle.

It looks like you got that Redfield taget peep cranked all the way down; and it still shoots high at 25-50 yards??
Looks like you have some sort of globe front sight; maybe it's too low?

Seems to me that these sights are not "matched".

Great Buy!

There is no formal "matching" of sights. Back in the day you went to a sight base chart and found your rifle and the sights and the proper block height for the front sight. Much ths same way scope bases are still done. Sight base blocks in various heights can still be bought today. Same can be done with a dial caliper and some math....

Were that rifle mine I would be hunting up some Redfield Internationals, even better yet the MKII version with 1/8" clicks....Have a set on a 40X, and they are nice. And period correct as well. Great buy, you can afford correct sights for this great rifle.

Best regards, Kirk

PS add Unertl or Lyman barrel mount scope and will get you a complete NRA rig....

300 H&H

So why did you need a chart "back in the day", if not to "match" the sights?

I ment you had to do this yourself, no "prepackaged set".....they weren't sold that way. Thats all.
