Default Springfield / Stevens Model 82

Does anyone know what years these were made?

No Serial No. but it takes short, long and long rifle.
Pretty sure my father in law said he paid 12 dollars new when he was younger. Guessing it has to be pretty old.

Thanks, OS

Based on your post; the single shot Model 82 was made from 1935-1939. It was a "takedown". You could remove the barreled action from the stock by undoing the knurled "thumbscrew" under the groved foreend.

That is the one.

It still shoots very accurately. It was the "barn" gun so it is ugly. Thanks for the info.
