Default Henry range report

Took the Henry lever action to the range for the third time and started building some confidence at 25 yards. Here is a picture of my first attempt at 50 yards, with iron sites. I know I got some practicin' to do

Try shooting at coke cans, sometimes its easier to have a definitive target rather than a mass of black. Besides thats what 22's were made for anyway. Not that you can't use the silhoutte but I just find its more fun using cans, tennis balls, pingpong balls, gallon jugs with water etc.

Is that offhand? My Henry 22 mag at 50 yards off a bench scoped will shoot under a half inch if I do my part and use ammo it prefers.

I was shooting off the bench. I think it will do much better once I get it better sited in. You are right about the target, but I do love shooting it

I have been coveting that gun for awhile. I have the Henry Bigboy .44 and think they would make a nice set.

Good shooting, but looks like you may want to move your poi to the left a bit if your shooting off a bench as it looks like most of your group is shooting to the right.
And as the old saying goes, aim small, miss small. You might try and set up a samller target and you'll be better focused on a smaller sight picture.

I just ordered the Henry catalog today. I would love to add another lever action to my collection. I only have one (Winchester 1894 trapper .44mag) and it needs like minded company!
