Default Sportsman 999

Just received the above revolver today. I'm not really sure why I bought it as I have plenty of other rimfire handguns but something about it appealed to me. Haven't shot it yet since I live in the Atlanta area and we are covered up with ice at present. It has an AE serial number (1968-I think) and is in super condition. I like the 9 shot. I like the top break. I like the way it feels in my hand. I like the price and I particulary like not having to figure out what modifications I'll have to make to it. It may be the ultimate walking around-plinking-have fun gun that I have. I wonder what took me so long to try one of these revolvers. Shelby Chastain

Shelby, I think you hit the nail on the head with that statement. They are great fun guns. A 999 was my first handgun over 50 years ago. My cousin had one and introduced me to the fun so I just had to get my own. It is long gone but I never see one that I don't recall the hours of fun that was had with that revolver. Enjoy.

Congrat's on your revolver shelby1941! I had a sportsman 999 from 1951 and it was a good shooter and didnt have any complaints with mine.
