Default H&R 732 32 S&W

I have a H&R 732 that is stamped 32 S&W, not 32 S&W L. Can I shoot 32 longs in this gun? They fit in the cylinder just fine. Thanks in advance.

YES, you can shoot .32 S&W Longs in that M732 piece. I have some with and some without the 'L' after cartridge stamping. Don't know why H&R did that, certainly didn't save them any money by excluding that little letter.???

Thanks for the reply and info. Can you tell what the date of manufacture is from the serial number A819xxx? It does not have a transfer bar. Thanks again.

'AB' indicates 1965 - a 1st Model - transfer bar ignition was introduced in 1973-74. Earliest 1st Model had frame mounted firing pins.

Just for fun - here's a picture of the R&D prototype of the Model 732 -
