Hi hope I enjoy the forum
Found it while looking for identification of an old shotgun I have. with ramrod and shotmaker cant find any identifying marks and at first due to bore thougfht a punt gun but considering it as something else on retrospect any help appreciated and better photos if need be

ok back again
been told may be a single percussion fowling gun about 1830, thats possible. Anyway will look for any names etc after give it a clean. Best way to clean ? length from stock end to barrel tip = 154 cm barrel = 112cm bore is about 2.5 mm looks a bit bigger than a 12 bore. Thanks again |

If your looking to sell this gun (being as old as it is) as an antique, it may be best to leave some of the patina. Which means, don't clean it. You'll be scrubbing away some of the value, or at least in the eyes of collectors.

A fowler is a shotgun, so why the bullet mold? Is this gun rifled?

I honestly couldnt say . How does one tell?
The bullet mold was always lying with it in my father s house along with hs other guns but this was the only one that would possibly use a mold out of them all. |
