I'm taking a trip to Alaska this summer and want to take my Ruger P345 with me out hiking. I plan to aviod wolfves and bears, but there is always that chance.... I know a 45 is not necessarily the best defense against a grizzly, but it is what I have to carry. That being said, I think I need a +P high penetration load. Like a Buffalo cast, or a Doubletap FMJ. Any suggestions?

If that was my only option, then I'd stick with the 255gn Buffalo Bore and have a few mags at the ready too. I would avoid any JHP's intended for self defense; they're not going to penetrate enough to be effective.
