caliber is 300 win mag, and the serial number is in the 29,000 stock is a unique blonde with tiger like stripes of brown, action is perfect condition re blued, it has been professioally worked on. Its really beautiful to the eye but has all that work destroyed its value as a collectors item?

Not much collector value is left here...
The 300 Win mag. was not offered till the very end of pre 64 production in 1963. The only 300 mag offered before WW2 was the 300 H&H mag.. The stock is aftermarket as well. It may have some value, but not to a Winchester collector. But hower, if you really like it, then it has value to you. The action is worth $500+ by itself, and many very nice rifles have been built using them, some worth more than the original, but most not. For a value, we will need some pictures of this one. Best regards, Kirk |

Can you post some photos of the action. Bolt shroud and safety.
My first impression, it's does not look like a model 70 |

Commercial FN Supreme action, Fagen or Bishop stock I'd say. Refield Sr mount with Denver built Redfield scope rounding it all out.
Maybe $6-700 for starters. Regards, Kirk |

camera problems, only Identification is there's a horse head stamped on the barrel where it attaches to the receiver and the serial starts with MAC and it is in the 20,000 range. i hope the horse head and letter code help identify it

Stock is Curly Maple. I have one on my bench rest .222 Sako. Beautiful wood that gives it that tiger stripe look. The bolt handle tells me not a Winchester.
