I have seen that design before but cannot remember where. Alpo might be right. I looked through my Levine's guide to Knives and can't find it in there.

Definitely K of C ceremonial sword - that's Columbus on the pommel.

Ozo it was a picture that was posted by an auction company here locally and it was the only picture they posted ..my wife was going to attentd the auction and I had to work ..I found it interesting looking but had never seen it before, thought I might have her bid on it for me but it sold for $110.00.

I have just found others online in the $250 range - so $110 was a good price for a collector...

Are you a collector? Very curious about this, as much like a Masonic sword, it doesn't seem like the kind of blade that's commonly available to the public.

Maybe you did well not buying it.
Weird that an auction would not even have a pic including the blade. Who knows what it looks like.

OFC, those KofC swords vary wildly in quality. Most I've seen at auctions, gunshows, and flea markets were poorly made and fitted with cheap components. A loose blade is common... you probably did well to save your money, IMHO
