The local newspaper where we are currently visiting has a daily column titled "Open Line" where people can call or email comments and have them printed on the back page. This morning, the following appeared:
Heartless System hurting us: "Basic food should be de-monetized and all people should have a right to decent housing. How did we ever end up with this heartless system that enslaves us and makes us into willing idiots for exploitation by the wealthy. The way of nature is free, domestication is dumbestication and boy have we been dumbested, to the point of self-hatred and the ruin of our environment." This is just the sort of entitlement mentality we have been seeing emerging from our current crop of uneducated, i-pod wearing, pot smoking, idol worshiping, liberal minded texters. When people first arrived in the new world, they were given the option to work and eat or not work and starve. The only thing they were promised was some level of protection, religious freedom and opportunity. Our Constitution is an extension of these promises. No where do I remember a promise of free food, housing, health-care, rent subsidies, utility bill assistance or any other entitlement. Now if we try and cut-back or withhold any of these give-aways we are branded inhumane regardless of how much of a burden they place on taxpayers who are already facing hard economic times. My definition of humanitarianism is that we have become civilized to the point we no longer eat those lazy, bottom feeding scum. ![]()

Yup, that there's a heapin' helpin' o'socialism, alright.
These pinheads don't read it as "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness", but rather "life, except for abortion which is of course the mother's right to choose, liberty, which means freedom from having to work, and happiness, meaning I should get everything I want because everyone else has one." And don't get me started on that Obama "Freedom Phone" - as if somehow, having a cell phone is a right. I don't even have a cell phone (by choice). As for "self-hatred and the ruin of our environment"... If the writer is into self-hatred, that's their problem. I see a disparity here - they want free food and housing, and that takes agriculture, trucks, lumber, and a million other things that environmental commandos despise. We need to start exporting these folks to France and Canada, and maybe we can get back to our regularly scheduled Constitution. "For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat." (2 Thessalonians 3:10)

p.s. It'll be these same pole-smokin' tree huggers who (a) blame us when the economy collapses, and (b) come beggin' for food because they couldn't see the writing on the wall.
Might be nice to come up with a list of screening questions... "Oh, you want this Ramen and this cup of water? Not sure you're qualified to be a citizen in our new country. Please recite the Declaration of Independence, then we'll vote on you." "What color was the COEXIST bumper sticker on your car?" (Trick question.) "Name ten lies Obozo told us."

I watched an episode of hard core pawn. A customer brought in an item and wanted a couple hundred for it. They offered 40.00 for the item. The customer said, 40.00? I came in here to get 200 and you are gonna give me 200 for this item before I leave cause you have lots of money and I need it. They had to escort the person out kicking and screaming profanity because they are suppose to get what they want! It happens all the time. You got enough money so you should give me some! You owe it to me!

The way of nature certainly is free; I can't argue with that. Free to decide whether to work or starve. The way of nature is survival of the fittest. So maybe this person would rather live by "the way of nature" instead of in a society that provides a helping hand when needed.

I saw that one too DoubleD along with a number of others very similar. A sad state of affairs for sure. But that's to be expected in Detroit.

I am no longer "shocked" when I see it. It is so wide spread now I almost "expect" to see it. It has always been there, but it really surfaced when bozo got elected (if you call that an election). It was more like a racist mob installing its leader. But, when the video aired about the lady saying she no longer had to worry about her car payment or mortgage, it started coming in droves. These people wont stop until the rich folks split their bank accounts with them or give them everything since half wouldnt satisfy them. By god, you have money in your wallet and I dont. Its just not FAIR! Give it to me NOW!!! I want it now!!! Gimmmeee!!!

We start anew, just as we did those several hundred years ago.

This is a relevant satire!
The ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER This one is a little different. Two Different Versions. Two Different Morals. OLD VERSION: The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house, and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold. MORAL OF THE OLD STORY: Be responsible for yourself! MODERN VERSION: The ant works hard in the withering heat and the rain all summer long, building his house, and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while he is cold and starving. CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so? Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing, 'It's Not Easy Being Green.' ACORN stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the group singing, We Shall Overcome. Then Rev. Jeremiah Wright has the group kneel down to pray for the grasshopper's sake. President Obama condemns the ant and blames President Bush, President Reagan, Christopher Columbus, and the Pope for the grasshopper's plight. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share. Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity and Anti-Ant Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer. The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the government Green Czar and given to the grasshopper. The story ends as we see the grasshopper and his free-loading friends finishing up the last bits of the ant's food while the government house he is in, which, as you recall, just happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around them because the grasshopper doesn't maintain it. The ant has disappeared in the snow, never to be seen again. The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident, and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize and ramshackle the once prosperousand peaceful, neighborhood. The entire Nation collapses bringing the rest of the free world with it. MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote in 2012. I've sent this to you because I believe that you are an ant! You may wish to pass this on to other ants, but don't bother sending it on to any grasshoppers because they wouldn't understand it, anyway.

What a maroon. Food in nature is free, alright, provided you can catch it. And oh goody! You are also free food for the bears, lions and tigers! Rather than being "enslaved" and having to work 8 hrs a day in an air conditioned office, you get to run around 12 hrs a day looking for food and trying to catch food in the heat! Need water? Find a river. Your home? A cave or whatever sticks you can put together.
How dumb are people? Seriously... |
