Default Iver Johnson supershot 7 cylinder help

A mysterious revolver has been in my family's possession for many years. My mother claims she got it from her father who got it from his father. The gun is a 7-shot top break revolver. The barrel is about 7 in long. Based on the size of the holes in the cylinder I estimate the revolver takes a .22 round. The top of the barrel is inscribed "Iver Johnson's Arms and Cycle Works Fitchburg, Mass USA. The only other marking is on the bottom of the trigger guard and on the metal part of the grip hidden by the wooden handle. Both of these marks simply read "5." I am very interested in confirming the make and model as well as the quality and value of the weapon. I can figure out a way to post pictures if that would be helpful.
Thanks alot,
Mike

You apparently have the 7-shot Supershot model made only 1928-1931, but there should also be a letter K with the serial number on the grip strap. Also, measure the barrel from front of cylinder to muzzle, as a 7 inch barrel would be a special order.

If you have photos on your PC, click on "Go Advanced" to upload them here.

TYPICALLY - as established by Bill G. - special order pieces (with non-typical attributes) will have a one or two digit serial number. Probably a special factory order item.
