Default New Guns

I just got a German Walther PPK/S used for $250, great condition, needs some reblue but it works. I will get some pictures up. Oh and I got a Turkish 8mm mauser with all the goodies for $90. I am still cleaning the damn barrel, dirty as hell. Anyone got any tips?
Well funny thing my gunsmith just called, he got the improved trigger job (of his own design) for my glock done and the night sights on, I felt a glock trigger he did and it was nice. Got me some Trijicon sights for $50 . I asked him about the mauser, he said get some diesel fuel plug the barrel and let it sit for a week, hmmmm I am leary about this.

Try the 50-cent electronic bore cleaner. You can make it yourself and it does wonders. Just don't do it too long.

Kerosene works better. It's thinner than diesel fuel, and will tend to break up the dirt better. It shouldn't do any damage to metal, just keep it off the wood cause it will stain the furniture.
After you soak & clean the bore and barrel, shoot some Tri-Flow down the barrel and let that soak in for a day, the teflon in tri-Flow will soak into the surface metal, and create a protective coating. Just make sure you get all the kerosene dried out first.

Trust me, there ain't much you can do to hurt a Turkish Mauser....
