Default NBC & The U.S. Open: Pledge of Allegiance

Hmmm.... Do you know the Pledge of Allegiance?

Maybe you can figure out what's missing from this Pledge of Allegiance montage put together by NBC for the U.S. Open...

IMPORTANT NOTE: This link (and the issue therein) was sent to me in an email. My sharing it here does not imply any endorsement of NBC, its affiliates or subsidiaries, golf, the U.S. Open, television, youtube, or any firecrackers that may appear anywhere in the video.

The progressives are attempting (and succeeding) to transform America into a Godless, socialist utopia. To continue their agenda it is necessary to destroy the belief, reverence for, and faith in, almighty God and the concept of liberty and justice instilled by that faith in Christians and Jews.

"Under God" was a necessary phrase in the pledge because without God there is no liberty nor justice. Whether or not individual progressives are atheist doesn't matter as long as they go along with the notion that acknowledging God in public affairs is inappropriate.

It is my belief that things will never truly get better in the world or our country until Christ's return. We are speeding headlong toward Armageddon and all we can do is resist as much as we can and hold onto those values and beliefs with which most of us were raised.

I expect nothing less than that coming from the whitehouse owned NBC. They both have one thing in common though, they are both Anti American.

I rate youtube below snopes.

It's a free for all, and anything goes.

While it doesn't suprise me that any MSM outlet would stoop to this level, it also comes as no suprise that some other idiot would manufacture this kinda tripe.

The www is ripe for misinformation.

Looks legit.

But it's all good. NBC has apologized.

I was watching and it got my attention right away. I am glad that enough rancor was raised to call their hand. However this just simply plays into the liberal socialist pattern. They will do it over and over until they do not hear enough complaints if that is possible.

The problem is, the Pledge as it is taught in school is just a bunch of words. Not enough time or effort is spent making sure everyone understands and appreciates the true meaning of the words otherwise it's like learning to sing songs in another language. You say all the words and they are meaningless. Listen to the late, great Red Skelton say the Pledge and explain each and every sentence. It should be required of every American!

Wow... Just wow...

What is the point of taking God out of everything? It's not like there's a law that says they have to respect God.

But I also thought the law said they couldn't stop me from respecting God.

Idk maybe I'm just getting old but I said "Under God" in school, and I graduated in 2005.

The 1st amendment grants us freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. There is a difference. The separation of church and state, though not a term used in the constitution, was a phrase used by Thomas Jefferson and others. It was meant to keep the government from meddling in church affairs moreso than the church meddling in governmental affairs. It seems some in our country takes the opposite view and thinks the 1st amendment means that any mention of God is forbidden in public, and is an assault on their rights if mentioned, or worshiped in public. This was NEVER the intention of the framers of the constitution, and their individual writings comfirm this.

The very wording: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ", says it very plainly. It, like the rest of the Bill of Rights, is a restriction placed on government, not the people. It is sad that we have allowed our rights to be eroded by certain members of our society.

Right on Cutter! Red Skelton's explanation of the pledge IS excellent.

The separation of church and state was also intended to clarify that no "official government religion" of the United States (think Church of England) would ever be established. The separation of church and state was never intended to mean that the 10 commandments, or the "under God" in the pledge was to be "eliminated from places of government or public education." It has been bastardized to the n-th degree.

As far as the "In God We Trust" on coinage and currency goes--

a pharmacists I worked for a LONG time ago added to that:

"ALL OTHERS PAY CASH."

The whole country would be better off if we had many more cash customers and not so many plastic ones.
