Default browning 20 gauge semiautomatic shotgun

I have a Browning 20 gauge semiautomatic shotgun with the numbers 4Z over 83951 on it.says made in Belgum on the barrel, also says browning arms co. St Louis MO & Montreal PQ on the barrel. gun is in excellent shape also has FN on the butt. any idea what year and how much its worth?

I don't know what it's worth at this time, but I bought one almost identical to the one you have (but with an extra barrel) in 1982 for 350.00. At that time the price was considered very good as there weren't as many 20 gauges out there. I wouldn't sell it now for 700.00 as it has been a very good and reliable gun.

I have a 20 gauge with serial #7Z17009....wondering how the heck do you know what year it is from? The web site tool is of no use to me on this one......

The 'Z' identifies the model as an Auto-5 Light Twenty.
