Is the Remington 700 SPS Varment a thick barrel? - The Firearms Forum

I won a Remington 700 SPS Varment Rifle and I was wondering if it has a thick barrel like the 700 SPS tactical rifles have?

Congratulations on winning the rifle and yes, it comes with the heavy contour barrel.

Nice! You won about a 660 dollar rifle!? Thats killer to say the least!
They are great rifles. I had the .308 for 7 yrs. But regretfully sold it... Durn'd accurate at 200-400 yds. And beyond! The newer, factory, X-Mark triggers break clean, and with a little TLC, they are one of the best factory setups Ive had the pleasure to use.
