Default Bad week at 45nuts house

Last Friday(6-22) my wife commented that she had called her Mom and didn't get a hold of her. Saturday morning I mowed the front lawn and went to the gun store to pick up some .357 158 gr SJHP. After that, I stopped at Costco to buy some veggies. My phone buzzed and I had missed a call.

I listened to the message and my wife was some upset asking me to return her call. I did. She said "Mom's dead!!!!" What? No, what the hell happened? Don't know, come home. I eventually went to my knees next to the grapes having an apparent teret syndrome attack.

She called after I left the house and didn't get an answer and called a neighbor to go and check on her and her Mom was found lying dead in the hall.

Bottom line is, she was gardening and stirred up a yellow jacket nest Friday afternoon/evening and was stung multiple times. She knew she was allergic to bee & wasp stings. We didn't find an Epi pen and she didn't dial 911. Instead, we find a box of baking soda on the counter and multiple places where she spilled it. She was 77 with no other major health issues. She had just lost a grandson and some might think maybe her will to live was waning because of this.

My question is this: Do you get to a stage in life where you're tired and ready to shed this mortal coil? I can't for the life of me understand why she didn't dial 911.

Anaphalactic shock

Sad news. Prayers sent for the family from here.

Yes, to answer your question, I believe there is a point when life isn't that important and the person gives up. I've seen it happen.

Sorry to hear it Steve. Give Elaine our best.

I too have witnessed the will to live disappear. Back in 1996 my great grandfather passed away, sudden heart attack, he was dead before he hit the floor. My Great gramma, had been by his side for over 50 years, she had DJD and he helped her everyday of her life. She wasnt ever the same after grampas death, she became crotchety and got to where she quit taking any of her medications. Shortly before my grandfathers passing she was diagnosed with bone cancer too, which was the reason for all the meds. she allowed the cancer to consume her and she passed within a few months of my grampa.

Its a sad thing. Beck and I offer our sincerest condolences for y'alls loss.

Thanks guys, I guess we will never know for sure. At least our last words were playful and loving and we had been talking about gardening lately. She is in a much better place, far far away from Barak Obozo.

I am so sorry, 45 -

Heavenly Father, we come before you today upholding this family that has suffered this loss.
We ask that you would draw near to them, and let them know that you are there to lean on at this time.
We ask that you would ease their suffering and relax their anxiety about this.
We know that all things are done in your time, Lord, and that does not often coincide with our ideas of what is best; but we know that you do know best, and all things are done in accordance with that.

We ask that you would be with this family and friends, to help them through this period.
We ask that you would let each one know that this separation is a temporary condition, and that they will be re-united again in your kingdom.

And we ask these things in the blessed name of Jesus the Christ, the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Amen -

So very sorry for your loss.

When anaphalactic shock sets in, it suffocates the victim because the airway swells shut. This, in itself, causes panic and irrational actions. The pain from the stings and possible shock could have also added to her confusion.

Anaphylaxis comes on very quickly, so she likely did not suffer long. If she had an Epi-pen and could have taken the injection, it would've given her a huge burst of adrenaline, expanded her blood vessels, increased her heart rate, and hopefully reopened her airways.

My deepest condolences.
