I have the M&P 15-22 and I absoutely love it. No issues at all from it.

As for the M&P 15, a coworker has one and he is a infantry officer in the guard as well. He has put over 2K rounds through his and had no issue with it. Fires like it is brand new. I have fired it myself & I liked it. Everything felt right on it. The only thing that I didn't like about it (and this goes for all S&W products) is that you only get 1 Magazine and a cardboard box, unless you pay more. I guess I was spoiled by FNH and glock giving you actual cases and additional magazines, cleaning roads, and a loader. My 15-22 did not even come with a gun lock.

Hey Bandit. They are selling S&W M&P Sport 5.56 for $599.00 around here. Only thing I'm not sure about is the barrel not being moly chrome. But at that price I'm picking one up tomorrow and will give you a range report in a couple of weeks.

I have the M&P and it has been flawless for me. Because I am involved with law enforcement, I got in on a group deal that included three Magpul magazines, single point sling attachment with Blackhawk single point sling, front night sight and a picatinney rail mounted to the bayonette lug... all in a black plastic case (cheap but servicable).

The gun hasn't stopped on me yet except one time I didn't have the magazine locked in. I only have a couple hundred rounds through it but I like it. Our depatment decided to go with the Smith because of the lifetime warranty.

The M&P AR's that sell for under 600 are not chrome lined. DPMS has a line out that is and they sell around here for 525.00 if you can find a shop that still has them in stock. Store I work out of sold out of all 20 of them in 2 days.

I do not have an M&P but I do have two Bushmasters that I think are great rifles. One has the piston system (16 in barrel) and the other is a standard impingement system (11.5 in barrel w/5.5 inch flash hider). They both shoot great but the 16 inch barrel shoots a little better and is much easier to clean.

I'm fixen to sell the 11.5 inch upper and buy me another 16 inch one.

Wolf in an AR 15 platform is a problem you do not want. Saw the same crap in a Mini 14 broken shell in chamber and it is mess to get out.
