I have the Maverick88 just like it. Wanted one like yours but the safety is easier for me to use on the 88. The tang safety did not feel right with the pistol grip.

On a side note get some of the Centurion 2 1/4" buckshot. You can get it with one .65" ball or 6 OO pellets. It increases capacity by one and cycles in mine real nice and at HD distances it does just fine. Need to test it on some critters to see how it kills before I use it for HD. The .65" ball laod is sweet from mine.

Very nice! I have the 500 in 12 ga and for the most part i keep the pistol grip on. nice to have it next to the bed , gives ya that warm and fuzzy feeling when you grab it in the middle of the night.I put a light on mine that blinds em (or will) as i come into my hall. you made a great choice for a HD weapon.

A pistol grip buttstock. Gives it an AR feel and distributes the recoil to the palm of your hand instead of your shoulder.

Might look into a set of custom sights. See if a smith in your area can fix you up with a set of Ghost ring sights for it.

Other than that its good the way it is.

An alternative to the ghost ring sights is to get you a used 12 ga vent rib barrel for it and cut it down to the rib post just past 18" and put a set of tru glo 'rib sights' for turkey hunting on it. I have done a couple this way and it kills 2 birds with 1 stone. superior sights and a heatshield. Keeps the heat waves form destroying your sight picture.
