I've been a big time trader for several years, I used to NEVER get rid of one but ran out of space and refuse to buy a bigger safe. The trouble is, I've traded myself in to a corner, no longer do I have several on hand that I would trade, as I've traded for better guns for the past year (28 hand and 8 long guns last year alone) and now can't find any I'd get rid of. But, since I've got a GREAT collection of guns I really like, I guess I'll take a break for now.

I had an old .22 that didn't feed right, and a break-top .22 snake gun, traded it in at the pawn shop on a lever-action Model 94 lever-action. Traded an old 30-06 for a .410 as well. It's all in what you have and what you want.

And sometime what you really want ends up being something you had and traded.. Hate it when that happens.

I forgot about the Rem. Mod 788 22/250 it has been converted to a single shot, bottom of reciever filled with Acura Glass for prairie dog shooting. Have all the original parts for the clip. Its mounted in a HS Presion stock bedded and floated. The barrel is a Douglas pg,ag 26" c.m. with ss break. has a 6.5x20 Simmons scope. It's only been fired to break in barrel. Having to give up P-Dog shooting getting too old.

YES............ And I wish I had about half of them back. Long ago I got rid of any "collectible" guns that I couldn't shoot (for fear of reducing their value)
But along the way I sold others to buy something new. Many times it was a good choice, but I have sold some I wish-ta-dickens....I had back. The "ole- 20_20 hind-sight" cliche'.....Don in SC ![]() |

Yeah, I've done it in the past, but try not to do it too much. I traded my Ruger Blackhawk for a S & W Mod. 28 some years ago. I was tired of the single action wanted a nicer double action wheel-gun. I've never regretted the trade, the Mod. 28 is a great shooting pistol.
![]() BTW, it wasn't an even trade, I had to throw in some cash along with the Blackhawk to do the deal on the S & W.

I have done some of those kind of deals myself. Sold an Ithaca mod. 600 20ga o/u like new for $200 and found one 20yrs. later but the Japan made one and gave $475 for it, won't sell this one. Also sold S&W mod41 target 22lr. for $200 was probably worth $600 at that time. Got out of guns and hunting started bass fishing, WRONG it cost me more than guns and hunting. Been back into guns and hunting since 74.
