Just discovered that my Savage Model 10 predator .223 has a hollow stock. Anyone ever think of using it to store survival gear? waterproof matches, fishing line, hooks, even a few zip lock plastic bags. Add a paracord sling and your rifle can be an awesome survival tool.

most injection molded plaztik stocks are hollow both at the buttstock and the fore-end. I filled mine with greatstuff foam and a little lead shot, just enough to balance the rifle and give it a more solid feel.
