Default Colt single Action S/N 534XX

Hi,
I found this revolver that has 32 W.C.F Made by COLT firearms U.S.A. stamped on barrel. The S/N is 534XX but 'Blue Book' claims the 32 cal was introduced in 1884. Do you think it is replica, forgery, rare or trash?
Thanks for your help.

I'd venture that it is a Colt, rebarreled and recylindered at some point. Also poorly refinished, with patent dates on the frame removed mostly, maybe first (1) number of SN also buffed out. Better (clearer) pictures would help. Heavily buffed, causing the gaps that appear where the backstrap and triggerguard mate to the frame. The grips appear to be bone, maybe plastic. Remove the grips and see if there are any markings on the backstrap.

Hi Goody,
Thanks for the reply. Sorry to say there are no markings on the backstrap or anywhere except the number 107 on the 'loading wedge' and same under the trigger guard on the frame. The grips seem to be bone or ivory due to the saw marks on the inside surfaces. Also on one inside surface of the grip is the number 13 written in pencil. I attaced an addition blurry picture of the gun bottom to show serial number and maybe confirm if it could have a number buffed off? I will get better pictures when I get back to the house.
Thanks,
Ted

The pictures show a SA revolver so heavily buffed and reblued that it could be a Colt or any of several reproductions/copies. Do you have any pictures of the bottom of the frame showing the serial number or the barrel showing patent dates or caliber.

Whatever it is, the work done on it has left it with almost zero collector value, so the details are not really that important.

Hi Jim K,
Sorry to say there are no visible trademarks. The SerNum is shown in my last post picture albeit somewhat blurry. Standard 'Made by Colt...' stamped in two lines per 4.75" barrel lenth. 32 W.C.F. is stamped on left side barrel. The only other marks are the number 703 on bottom of 'loading gate' and on the bottom of frame under trigger guard assembly. I will try to get better pictures.
Thanks
