Default Colt 1877, 41 Cal.

I have a Colt 1877 41 cal., 1 1/2 in. barrel, #18487, with the hammer tang gone. If it was done by a gunsmith, it was a clean job. Did Colt ever manufacture a pocket pistol like this? 'Might have been a custom order by a rich relative.

A picture would help, but AFAIK, Colt never cataloged a Model 1877 with a bobbed hammer; most likely it was a gunsmith job. A Colt letter will have shipping information and should show if the gun was any kind of special order.
