I have fixed cars for almost 30 years. Many years ago I needed a screen name, and Automan was taken, hence Awtoman. I carry a .45 1911 everyday so it also seemed appropriate here also. My brother ran sound for various music acts out of Nashville, he was AwDOGuy.

My first real job was working at an auction house. Been doing auctions, flea markets, yard sales. etc. my whole life.
Was always asked....what are you "pickenup" today? Became my CB handle and kind of naturally carried over to the internet.

my name came from a goat.
when the kids were much younger, they were into naming EVERYTHING we raised... cows, goats, chickens, dogs, cats, horses... then, they got into giving everything a middle name & they named 1 of our goats rosie rita. when i started joining forums, i couldnt ever find a name that wasnt taken, so i chose the goat's name & it worked.![]()

I'm a nerd. Twenty-some-odd years ago I met a (then) new Dungeons and Dragons group, and rolled up a character I named Maximilian. Still play with those same guys, sometimes we drag out the old original characters.
Later when we started doing the medieval combat thing I needed a character name again, and re-labeled myself Maximilian. Those same guys got me into THAT sport, too. Had to be Maximilian II here, there was already a Maximilian I suppose.

Easy to figure out. I'm a sometime historical re-enactor and a full time history nut. About 70% of first generation Colt SAA's were made in .45 Colt and I'm nuts about Colt SAA's. .45 is a good caliber, whether it's a .45 Colt, .45 ACP, 45-70, 45-90, 45-60, 45-75, 45-110, 45-120, .450 Nitro Express, .450 Rigby, .450 Marlin, .458 Winchester Magnum and well you get the picture.
Colts, Winchesters, Sharps & Express Rifles all in .45 caliber. I'm 45nut!![]()

Not in the market any longer. Now an older and sadder guy because I turned down a Stinson Gull Wing for the magnificent sum of $500 back in December of '61, and the same season, just a few months later, I rejected a lonely F4F on the ramp at Jacksonville's Imeson airport....dumb! Oh, and I am also one of the many guys that failed to take advantage of the $15 1911's from NRA or the $25 Garands back in the early 60's. Of course earning the princely sum of $435 monthly plus $150 flight pay for flying light attack birds from East Coast carriers might have had something to do with the decision.

My youngest son for years couldn't resist grabbing everything he could reach so I nicknamed him crawdad. Somewhere along the line he started calling me crawdaddy.

Mine was an evolution over time.
CB days, my handle was American Patriot. Computer days, that was already used on Hotmail, so became American_patr27. I retain that for Hotmail, but shortened it for screen names to AmPat. Some folks (like my wife) think people should use their real name, so became AmPaTerry.
