Default H&R The American Double Action: What modern revolver is the closest?

I want to put a Hogue grip on it. Do you think it would work? I want to keep the plastic ones from cracking, since they are in perfect condition now. I would like to save them and put on something that gives an extra finger to hold the grip.

Handgun grips as a rule are item specific, they do not inter change to other firearms. I know of no other firearm that the grips would interchange. At one time in the past after market grips were made for these guns, perhaps you could check E-Bay or even find a pair of replacement ( reproductions made for your firearm ) grips to use.

I know the plastic grips on the gun are unique to it, but you still don't think something like a Hogue grip would work? They have a clip that attaches to the bottom of the frame, then a pin pulls the grip up to the trigger guard.

In my opinion, no. At least not satisfactory, The Hogue's are molded to fit the grips of the gun they are marked for. You will have too much back space ( between the back of the frame and the grips ) or too much over hang or both. I believe they will be tight at the bottom and wobbly above. Could be wrong, perhaps someone else has other opinions.

Anyway, thanks for being honest! I appreciate the feedback.
