Ignorant people all over this earth, but most people I see complement the military for their service. My number was 31 in the last draft, did my time, and it was a good experience for me actually. I see foolish punks too who have never been outside their community, never over seas to see the poverty, beggars & lepers in the streets, or the complete lack of freedom we so easily think everybody has. Fortunately they are a minority in our land.

My nephew was just up hunting the last few days, spent 6 months in Afghan as a PJ in AK Air Guard; has to go back again nx summer and then to Somalia following year; lucky he usually only does 4-6 month tours but flying in Pavehawks all the time; and under fire often rescuing downed airman & wounded soldiers. He is required to volunteer as usual in the military and luvs his chosen career. When in Alaska, he rescues plane wreck victims, bear maulings, lost/injured people out and about in the AK wilderness; the entire gambit what the state police are not capable of handling. Believe me, his services are greatly appreciated by all Alaskans and are held in high esteem with local papers constantly printing articles concerning their missions.

I wouldn't concern myself with the ignorant few, most will end up victims themselves someday.

I had a man call me to see what his daughter had to do to transfer a gun she bought on leave and if she could come in to the shop to find out details.She came in and we started to talk about the gun while talking she said she has been in the air force for 16 years and when she was on her last deployment a 5th grade class ( her sister is a teacher) sent her lots of cards and asked her to come to the class when she got back.So when she got back she went to the class in uniform and was walking through the commins( this is a central area that is in the middle of Ithaca like a open mall) she was yelled at more then once about being a killer and asked how she could go along with this murder war for oil.When she was telling me you could tell it upset her.I felt like telling her to walk back through with myself and a coulple of other vets that i know.But I told her not to let it get to her.She latter said she was going to fort dix for 3 weeks then to afgan (3rd time).I could not imagine what it would feel like after hearing that and haveing to go back.At least I was home and not going back when I heard this kind of stuff.
Now I know that it happend in Ithaca NY and this town is pro dem. and pro. gay and mostly green head veggies. But this is just wrong!
It's one thing not to agree with a war but another to show hate to the person in the uniform.

He co-wrote a bill that permits the military to pick up Americans, and hold them indefinitely, and without charge. I do have an issue with that.

My thoughts are as I stated above the "War is a Racket" quotation from General Butler, 2-time awardee of the CMH and the most decorated soldier in US history at the time of his retirement. Our nation is being invaded by murderers, rapists, thieves, gang bangers, and the diseased and our leaders in DC couldn't care less, which is absolute proof that they have zero concern for the security of this nation and they use our military to secure the worlds' natural resources for their corporate handlers while our own citizens are terrorized everyday along our southern borders. McCain is a typical one world order open border free trade neo-con who bows down to Israel and his dad played a big part in the USS Liberty cover-up when Israel murdered 34 US sailors and wounded 178. Israel said they thought the ship was an Egyptian horse carrier despite the US flag flying and the 7-foot tall id on the side of the ship, and it being the most sophisticated spy ship on earth at the time. McCains' dad limited the scvope of the investigation to "what did the US do wrong to bring about the attack". Israels' idea was to sink the ship and kill all aboard and then blame the attack on Egypt. The Liberty got out a distress call to a carrier in the Mediterranean which scrambled fighters bu LBJ had them called back saying he'd rather the Liberty go down with all aboard than embarrass Israel. The story of the USS Liberty is one of many god-awful horrific tell-tale signs of the demons who make it to leadership positions in the US. Like one poster here says, we'd be better off with some blue-collar Joe at the helm than these monsters who actually are.
