Default Savage axis

Hey guys I've been looking for a rifle for a while now, I've narrowed my search down to Savage and the Axis looks pretty good any opinions? I know it wont be as good as the more expensive models, but I'm not looking to spend a ton of money. Any opinions on the savage axis? Thanks

I own one and it shoots just fine. It also has good reviews so others must think so too. Mine doesn't have the "accu trigger" though and I would have liked to have that. What caliber you looking at Trevor?

I don't know what caliber, between .308 and 7mm-08 rem, which would you recommend?

Mine is in .223 and it's great. I did modify the trigger. Polished it and lightened the trigger spring. It made a world of difference.

.308 would be a nice choice Trevor, I purchased .30-06 because I thought I needed another one and I like its all around ballistics. If I was looking though, I would give strong consideration to the 7MM-08 you mentioned. I have read many good things about that caliber that I like. My grandson has one but I have never shot it. If you go that direction please let me know what you think. Good luck!
