I've got a few black walnut trees in my back yard. If you ever tried to bust into some of these nuts, ya know that they are a pain in the *** to get at the meat.
Tried using my single stage reloading press to crack these things & it works pretty good - - - - considering I don't have any squirrel genes in me. Just an idea that somebody out there might want to try.

I typically use BIG Channellocks, the 460 size.

I too had a black walnut tree in my back yard for a few years. For me, it wasn't worth the work to get that little bit of meat out of a black walnut. Ours were about the size of a small apricot and each needed at least 1 1/2 tons pressure to crack 'em...
