_*Congressional Reform Act of 2011*_
1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office. 2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people. 7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work. If each of you contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive the message. Maybe it is time. THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!!!!!

Yeah right, good luck with that. The only way you will make this possible is to get rid of all current Rep and Dem and get people in there that truly care about America.
So go out and vote for any Dem or Rep and you will never make this happen. |

I don't see it so much as who you vote for, as to how long you vote for them. The problem we face is the firmly entrenched 'good ole boy' network. Anyone that's been there for 10 years, has 'learned the ropes' so to speak. And they pass that along to any and all newcomers. It has nothing to do with political party affiliation. It's all about lobbyists. Get rid of them, and things will change. As that's not likely to happen, the next best thing is to vote 'em ALL out. If we're gonna allow big business and the money horders to influence our critters, the least we can do is make it as difficult as possible. Make 'em start over every two years! The largest infection to our federal officials, is the fact that they all act on a state level. Scratch my back and I'll scratch yours. Gimme dollars fer MY state, and I'll return the favor. All the while, they are avoiding what the Constitution considers the role of the fed. Vote 'em all out! ![]()

8. All federal statutes currently in force will expire in ten years, unless Congress and the President extend them. No new laws, and no extensions to old laws, will last longer than ten years without further action by Congress and the President.

Let me give you all a little reality check. "The people who are in the positions of power", the Senators, Congress persons, the President and the Supreme court are the only ones who can change any of this.
Sitting here on a firearms forum and making a list will accomplish absolutely NOTHING. Getting out and voting the right people into these positions of power is where your power starts and ends. The problems we see, is because we elect weak, ineffective, liberal, corrupt people into positions of power. We also have an American society that has become weak and dependent and about 50% of them get "free" money from the federal government and as such don't want things to change. |

as we learned in the War of 1812, we DO need a professional army. we do not, however, need professional politicians.

I agree. ALSO. If someone earned over 500,000 or thereabouts income they DO NOT need to collect Social Security. I know they paid in but if they are fortunate enough to make that kind of money they do not need to collect it back.
