Default .222 Rem. & 50 gr. TSX

Anyone have any experience with this combo? I am looking for a premium bullet for the .222, but am concerned whether the .222 will have enough velocity to make the TSX expand properly.

Sandman,
I am not familiar with this enough yet... but i poked around a little... I found info saying 1800 fps on target should expand the bullet. Hope this helps.

I use the 53 gr TSX in .223. From a 16" barrel they had more than enough velocity to expand fully at 200 yds. Id figure a .222 out of a full length barrel would have the velocity the .223 had from my 16..

In my smaller 22 centerfires I love the Calhoun bullets. They do have a max velocity which is not a worry with the 222 rem. Accuracy is very good with the calhouns also and they really do tear up a woodchuck
