Default .45 XD issue?

I have a .45 Springfield Armory XD. The last 4 or five times I have gone shooting, I have noticed fouling on one side of the outside of each fired case. This happens on any type of ammo used, whether factory or reloaded. Could it be that the tolerances inside my barrel have gotten too big or the barrel has become misshapen somehow? I have looked inside and see no obvious signs of damage. Just curious if anyone else has come across this issue or has any ideas as to the cause of this issue. The gun is approx. 5 years old and has only had maybe 1500 rounds fired through it and I have cleaned it thoroughly after each use.
