Default Rock Island Armory M1911-A1 9mm

Hi, I bought this gun made in the phillippines at my first gun show this weekend - Rock Island Armory M1911-A1 9mm for $380.00, now I can shoot 1911 with 9mm ammo and save some money. I think I did good. It comes with one mag, I need another mag, can you recommend the correct mag for this gun and where I can purchase it? Also, are there any other upgrades that can be added to this weapon? This is the exact gun>>Hi, I bought this gun made in the phillippines at my first gun show this weekend - Rock Island Armory M1911-A1 9mm for $380.00, now I can shoot 1911 with 9mm ammo and save some money. There are tons of upgrades that can be done, but none just yet. Master the weapon first. and get you some metalform mags here.

BTW, I think you mean RIA (Rock Island) IF you gave $380 for a RRA you should be arrested for thievery.

They are excellent 1911s for the money. Consider them a gateway drug to an addiction you will have for the rest of your life.

JLA, what's your opinion on the Remington 1911 R1, as a first 1911? Or even a Springfield Mil spec? Both about the same price here $650-$680 range.

Either would be a good starter 1911. I have not owned an R1, but have owned a couple springers. The R1 will come with better sights. But other than that thay are the same gun in a different wrapper.

I also love that the Remington is totally built in NY too.
