Tim at classicchecker@bellsouth.net cut a modified Dale Goens pattern at 22 Line per inch in the walnut of my 582 Remington. I did the stock reshaping, finishing and the inletting but the really beautiful work was done by Tim. The photos do not do it justice. He did this job for 185 bucks, shipped and insured. I highly recommend him.

Very nicely done! I like the pattern outline...something different than the typical double/triple-diamond layout that you usually see.
One of these days I'll actually try my hand at doing some checkering on something besides scrap pieces. And I'll hope that I get results like that too! Not to sidetrack the thread...and I know the original post is pretty old...but that piece of yard-art in the last picture is neat lookin too. Got a pic of the whole thing?
