What do you guys do with your spent brass,most scrap dealers do not want them

I figure that someday someone will set up a full strip mining operation in my back yard.

Centerfire stuff gets picked up, but the .22s stay where they land.

I've never had them say anything about scrap 22's, if it's brass, they weight it and take it here. You can use them to make bullet jackets with the right swaging tools; it's a little labor intensive, but it can be done.

We pick up the brass the Old Guys generate most of it is .22LR. I had kept the .22s separate and had around two gallons. Gave them to one of the fellows grandsons who scraped a bit. He got $15.00 for them. I reload most of the center fire stuff.

The range here sorts them from the centerfires and sells them off as scrap.

I leave it where it lands, usually. If I am at my range, I sweep it up and put it in the used brass bucket.

at my gun range they have a barrel for .22 shells when it gets full they sell it

I have heard they are not all that accurate but, if you need a bunch of range fodder bullets. This might be a cheap way to get them.

my scrap yard wants them hammered flat. this makes sure the primer compound has been used. they had a problem once with .22's not having been fired once..someone just pulled the lead and powder and brought in a barrel full....caused a commotion when they went through the shredder machine! had employees runing for their lives........just wish I could have seen that!
