I would say the best place to find some of that stuff is at a gun show. Or you can order from any of the number of suppliers online.

I agree with cycloneman. Most online distributors have sells regularly, don't get too excited and you can buy what you need at discounted prices a little at a time until you get what you need. IE Midway USA has monthly sells that overlap, so you can check out what they have you need and save a little cash. Check out Sinclair Intl., Brownells, and MidSouth Supply on the internet as well.

Shopping at gunshows can be risky at best, using brass (particulary rifle) from unknown source and history can quickly become unsafe, and have proven itself with a few reloaders I know. The vendors I have witnessed at gunshows were entirely overpriced and will not even catch a glance from me. www. brassmanbrass.com is a good reliable source for brass and he runs a good shop. I'm with Amercian Leader - dont jump on the first deal you find, dig a little and be smart about your prices, afterall you are reloading, you must have a penny pinching bone somewhere, we all do.

Bullets:
http://www.berrysmfg.com/ http://www.billybullets.com/Index.aspx http://www.missouribullet.com/index.php among others Bullets, primers, dies, brass and other stuff: http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/ http://www.midwayusa.com/ http://www.powdervalleyinc.com/ http://www.precisionbrass.net/index.html and my favorite: http://www.grafs.com/ Gun shows or local gun shops are good ideas for the powder and primers because you don't have to pay a hazmat fee with them. Every once in a while Grafs has a deal where if you buy so many of something, they pay the hazmat fees.

If you still need 9mm after Christmas I can help you out. I need to go through my brass and clean some out. I know I have way more 9mm than I can use.

Same here with .223. I have quite a bit of what I believe is once fired brass, most is commercial brass. Let me know if you8 want it, and after Christmas I can send you a hundred or so if that'll help get you off to a good start. I also have some 55 gr FMJ bullets you can have with the brass.
You can't ship primers or powder without a hazmat permit, but folks here might have some extra brass or bullets they might give you. Also check the for sale section of this forum. Charleyadams is a brand new poster and already offering to give away extra brass. Come on guys, anyone else got extras you might share with a newbie? I have an extra set of 9mm dies - RCBS if I remember correctly.
In the spirit of the season I will offer them too you - in return I ask you do the same for someone else sometime in the future with what you can spare. Pay it forward PM if you would like them
