Default Pearl Harbor Day .........

Is your flag flying and at half staff .... ?

National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, which is observed annually on December 7, is to remember and honor all those who died in the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. On August 23, 1994, United States Congress, by Pub.L. 103-308, designated December 7 of each year as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.[1] National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is also referred to as Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day or Pearl Harbor Day. It is a tradition to fly the Flag of the United States at half-staff until sunset in honor of dead patriots.[2]

My dad joined the Navy after that. Served on a ABSD (advanced base sectional dock) helping to repair ships damaged in combat. He spent the war on the island of Guam. I hear it's nicer there now. Back then we were still cleaning up from having just moved in.

I was going to post this but saw yours so as long as it's posted it makes me happy. As in any war theres death and tragedy. This was beyond that, a true crime of cowards.

It was indeed a sad day, however, the day they elected Obama was pretty sad too. For Pearl Harbor day, the school Obama's kids go to served an all Japenese menu (by coincidence). I don't mean to take anything away from the memories of those who served and lost their lives at Pearl Harbor, or those who survived. But I get so angry at what is happening in our wonderful country.
