Let me guess - then they pulled the Gun DNA Analyzer off of their Batbelt, and determined the mineral and chemical composition of the trigger spring.
Right before they whupped out their guns and led the SWAT team on a terrorist safehouse raid. ![]()

I notice crap like that all the time. Like when the foresics person digs a mangled slug out of a brick wall and the cool FBI guy automatically knows it came form a .338 Lapua Magnum at a glance from 30 feet away.
Or when they find a body thats been shot, and the forensics person digs a perfectly unmangled bullet out of the body and says this is a .40 caliber bullet fired from a weapon with polygonal rifling. Then the cool FBI guy says, thats a Baby Eagle. Not even available in the US our 'un-sub' must be israeli. Im always like Geez what dumb producers. They must think all of america is ignorant to guns and ammo and what happens when the metal hits the meat. I hate it..

The writers of these shows do so for the money, and they really don't know squat about what they are talking about. They don't have to! It's entertainment, not reality! And yes, Americans are really that dumb! They voted Obozo into the White House!

It was such a hit that first season. Then they ran out of ideas and had to look at old episodes of Batman to invent new lab machines. Ratings dip? Time for a bondage episode.

Yeah, it is hard to get, I only have about 25 boxes of 5.7X28. If you watch it enough, you will catch them in a lot of stupid little mistakes!

I watched it for a bit till they said it "would cut a man in half" and was "too [powerful" to be on the streets. Hollywood has done more to harm the image of firearms and their owners than any one who has used one in a crime, any crime IMHO. Holywood should be held accoutable for it's mis-information by hitting producers in their pocket boooks. IF they had to pay for each time they put out the wrong info, they would begin to straighten up IMHO.

Yep, I always find myself making little comments to my wife (of course she couldn't care less). I think my last comment while watching THE UNIT was "You can't open a dead bolt with a credit card!".

The biggest problem I have personally with these type shows is that there are people out there dumb enough to believe this BS, and then some of these people get selected for jury duty. They think we actually have all these cool machines and computers that we can zoom in on a bar code from a security camera from several yards away (actually saw that on one of the CSI, NCIS, or one of the other alphabet shows that my wife was watching), or other similarly impossible tasks. These jurors now expect police to have DNA, fingerprints, hair samples, and video of every single crime from every crime scene; and if we don't (we rarely do) it just means we are lazy and didn't do our job. It gets frustrating to say the least. These shows have caused more harm than probably anyone realizes. Not only are they harming the image of firearms and owners, but they have unintentionally let a lot of criminals off the hook and put them back into society because jurors expected all this nonsensical evidence to come forth at trial and was disappointed when it didn't. Even defense lawyers are keying in on this and playing it up during trials.

i don't watch many of the modern cop shows, especially Criminal Minds. that show is extremely anti-gun, anti-God, anti-America, and anti-morals. anyone who hunts, shoots, preps, or prays is instantly the prime suspect and almost always turns out to be the murderer. these kind of shows disgust me.

It's in the same vein as some character squeezing of 20 rounds from a revolver before they ever even think of reloading, if they ever do. They figure most people are uneducated, sadly a mostly correct assessment, and won't notice their shortcuts.

I no longer have my PS90 or my FiveseveN, but I do have a sweet shooting custom barrel in 5.7X28 for my Thompson Contender.
I guess since it is so powerful, I am going to have to quit using it to hunt squirrel!! ![]()

It isn't just guns. My wife is a nurse and we cannot watch some shows without her commenting on the fact that they are using a blood pressure cuff wrong, or mentioning wrong medicine, or misdiagnosing illnesses, or...
yeah, it is TV and hollywood. |

Folks, it is television shows designed for entertainment. Like in Ben Hur, the drivers of the chariots were wearing wrist watches.
Likely 90% of those watching the show would not know what caliber anything was and most watching have never fired a gun. CSI uses equipment that does not exist. I am a court qualified expert in accident & crime scene reconstruction and it takes days to determine some things the show will have solved immediately. Somethings we never know the full scoop on. I watch the show on occasion for the same reason it is being shown. Strictly for entertainment. Any show will have bloopers and say things that is not correct. |

I just realized something.. The movie series "Band of Brothers" is probably the most realistic depiction of what really happens when bullets hit a mans flesh.. No getting blown back 20 feet, no giant gaping holes, Just bullet impact the 'slap' and total relaxation of all muscles if it was a good hit. The Movie, "Saving Private Ryan" is also very close, except of course for the wisps of smoke from the 'impact charge' going off to simulate a bullet strike. They didnt hide that too well in that movie.
