1st of all, I'd like to say i really enjoy this forum! My mom and Dad recently passed away and I've been having a hard time, so a couple of good friends got me shooting again..taking dads guns out and enjoying the day outside of the house. Well, I've since been studying, researching and buying guns. My 1st purchase after receiving my FOID I bought a Walther P22, then a Henry GoldenBoy H004 (beautiful) my dad would love this rifle, then I bought a Taurus model 72/.22 mag off a friend for $150 & i love it (my pump), then a week ago I purchased a Glock 22 Gen4 and instantly fell in love. I honestly thought I was done buying for awhile..until
I started looking at semi-auto .22s and yesterday I went into one of my local gun stores (mom & pop style) and bought a Marlin 60 and put a Simmons 8 point scope on her. I'm very excited right now because I can go get it TODAY AND GO SHOOTIN' TOMORROW!!! good times! anyways..I just wanted to thank you guys for having such an informative forum and helping me realize what being free is all about. carry on

Welcome Stonebridge. Now that you are here, I can promise you will be sticking around.
I lost my dad very suddenly in April so I can sympathize with your loss. And although my dad was not a gun person, my friends have used shooting to get me out and socializing during those times I have really just wanted to curl up on the couch and hide from the world. Sounds like you have just as good friends. Keep your chin up, be safe, and enjoy those new guns! Oh, and in case you haven't figured it out yet, you are not allowed to talk about new guns without showing them off in a few pics!

Welcome to the forum, Stonebridge! Sorry about your losses. I have several pistols I got back from my Mom's estate after she passed away (she was a farm girl and loved shooting even into her 80s). In my youth I'd always drag home one gun or another. If Mom took a shine to any of them I'd make her a present of it. I take them out every now and then to the range. Helps me re-connect to the great memories of her teaching me how to shoot in the backyard.

Welcome to the forum. I have 3 Glocks but one day I should probably add a Gen 4 G22 to my vault. Nice looking rifle by the way.
