I was visiting in Sydney a few years ago and woke up to see a huge spider on the wall next to my bed. That thing was the size of my hand. Don't know if it was poisonous but it scared the begeesus out of me.

we get the big ones this way normally , they'll kill you quite nicely , but these little ones , i've not seen these thing way before , supposed to be way south of here .. these ones are the deadliest supposedly ( from those folks who know ) and we catch em and the serum folks collect em , like many things ya just gotta be quick.. he's sitting in a box in the jar till monday .. the folks will collect it and milk it and try to make anti venom outta it ... THEY ARE STILL WORKING ON THE ANTI VENOM FOR THESE ..

no not nuts ( not totally anyway) , the more they collect the faster they can figure out how to make the anti venom

Your very lucky you found it before it was too late. I heard those spiders got fangs that can penetrate a toenail. VERY Venomous as well like you said I thought I heard you say on the video

yeah i did say ( finally got a new camera too ) and thought i'd test it out , got the girly to get a couple when she went shopping ..

ya learn to be carefull around stacked wood , tin ( and i've 1/2 ton about the place left and all the shed's are tin or Galvinised 1080 steel ) etc etc and when done i'll make a mix of borax ( borasic acid sp?) some lime and volcanic sand and put 1/4" under the shed , that'll keep all the crawlies away ..

i'll nuke the weeds the next few days too and keep the snakes away ..

narr...... its natures way of cleaning outta the dead wood and idiots

like a ongoing darwin awards run by the environment , you learn or...

keeps city folks in the city where they belong too

i notice in the times when bears rattle snakes and mountain lions took a few folks in your early days too

not as many idiots around then i'll wager folks thought , learned , and hardly ever knew it all ..

some left wonderful journals , wills and clark is a great one , and your's ..

i like being out by myself or with mates , our packs and rifles , maybe horses , most often not

we see snakes often , spiders too , accidents happen , but if your not a fool ...

surfing theres shark but you can know when they aint about too

( if the sea lions take off , beat them to shore!!!! )

but the odd one will barrel in at 40 knots from 2 mile away and get someone .. but few , you gotta be pushing it to be got mostly

i fish for sharks , lotsa nice white flesh and no bones

and tastes great ..

man is the top level predator and like all predators your either smart or you die in nature

theres enough accidental unavoidable stuff without being dumb..

wish folks would be as such , too much dead wood in the gene pool now days

i dunno, i think spiders are worse. once you've got a snake by the head and have his mouth clamped shut he can't hurt you(unless he's a constrictor!). but spiders can jump all over the place and the only way to stop them is by splatting them, and even then they can bite you as you splat them.

snakes , gun laws and all snake guns can still be licensed here

double barrel .410's mainly but the odd 12g snake gun gets about and licensed occasionally
