This monstrosity sits on one of the properties we maintain. I have no idea what it is, but it's huge, the top of my head comes to about the top of that warning sign. It's obviously very old and weathered. I suspect that it was moved there and set on the concrete foundation.
Thanks in advance...

Don, I do not have clue of what it is other than it appears to be some type of stamp mill and it looks like it is cocked meaning it could be very dangerous.

There are a few markings on that crossbar near the top, Terry... but to be honest I may have to bring my binoculars to make them out.

It's a pre-war KL72 Mk. III(B) Flux Capacitor. They were used mostly in North Africa, and it's rare to find one stateside. WAG as to the value would be $437,912.89. If the energy transfer tube was still intact, closer to $438,000.

Are there any hard rock mines in the area?
It reminds me of a stampmill ore crusher I saw at an old gold mine once. Not sure though. os |

Are there any Mayan markings on it? Definitely has a Mayan look to it.
Could be the 2012 Doomsday Device. I'd stay clear of it if I was you.

Just the weight in iron/steel(?) would be a bundle by itself. But I wouldn't turn loose of it til I found out what it is.
Absolutely a press of some kind, maybe. ![]()

I don't know, but judging by the condition of those support timbers, I'd absolutely keep away from it.

Isn't that the prototype Cheese-It stamp? They stamp a whole hoop of cheese into those little 1" x 1" crackers!

Just a WAG, but I'd opine the wood you see is shipping timbers ! As to "what is it" my guess is some sort of stamping mill. Various shaped "tools are placed on the "hammer/anvil. I suspect that center hole in the lower crescent is for a drive shaft and the other holes for spur gears driving the "links" on a eccentric. Note the lower ends of the links face a boss that's eccentric. Feed the workpiece in from left to right or the opposite. All those dovetails in both "jaws are mechined in, hence exist for a serious purpose ! >MW
