About a week before Thanksgiving, several reports were stating how the economy was rebounding or at least leveling out since jobs were on the rise. Nobody made any indication as to why. I saw another report again today on Fox stating the same thing. Historically there has always been a sudden rise in new jobs every year from Thanksgiving until January. Its called Christmas, all of the massive shopping. Year after year. Democrats obviously using it as leverage in their favor, but no mention to it just being the holiday season retail stores plan for all year long. Are the Republicans that lost?
Now another thing I cant figure out. Obama calls an end to the Sandlot war and most of the military coming home. Sounds great and gives him a few brownie points. Then he pulls 75% of the national Guard from the borders. Sheriff Joe Apario gets hammered from the left and lawsuits. All of the local LEOs turn in their badges. Here is the big slam dunk. After the holiday season is over, all of those part time jobs are gone. Now with the military back and off the payroll, wont this jack the unemployement numbers way up? Is it possible to see close to 10% out of work for the coming year?

Yeah, I think you're on to something. I've been hearing similar reports. More consumer spending, lower unemployment, slightly better housing market. But the stories have all been careful to say that they are slight improvements, that things are relatively better.
A cynical man might say it's smoke blowing; "See, things are just starting to turn around, don't get a new president now!" Or it could just be news networks reaching for economy stories. If there are signs that can't be attributed to the holidays, or explanations as to why thousands of soldiers aren't going to squeeze unemployment numbers again, I'd like to see them. |

One thing that's helped the numbers is that gasoline prices have not yet risen as they usually do during peak travel seasons. In fact they have actually dropped due to a glut of gasoline in this country. Saw gas yesterday for $3.09

And of course, the unemployment numbers dropped, but jobs didn't increase to account for that drop. The drop was due to people giving up and falling off the unemployment rolls. Some just aren't even looking anymore.

I believe everything is getting better.
I believe unemployment will drop below 7%. I believe the OWS folks have a great message. I believe homes will sell like hot-cakes next year. I believe in Green energy. OUCH! Moo Moo Moo, Damn!! I don't know what it is. Every time I say stuff like that, I step on one of my teats.

Statistics ALWAYS support the reporters agenda. It's actually quite easy to do.
Sadly, the vast majority of the people either take it as gospel, or are too lazy to do some research. The true numbers are, 14-20% are currently unemployed. That would look bad on the current administration, so they just throw out some nonsense on the matter. Every Thursday morning, on the way to work, I hear the report for 'new' filings for unemployment benefits. It's accompanied by the 'new' jobs created. I don't keep records when I'm driving, so I'll generalize (forgive me). Please keep in mind that these are 'weekly' numbers. Since obie took office, we have had 400,000 new filings per week. ![]() At the same time, we've added 20,000 'private sector' jobs per week (I'm being VERY generous on that one). NEVER is the number of government jobs mentioned. The bottom line is, the IRS knows who's working and who isn't. Why not ask them? ![]() THAT would be counter productive. ![]() Spin it if ya got it...

Brings to mind one of my favorite quotes....
"Don't p!$$ down my back and tell me it's raining!" ![]() This is the most dishonest pack of Chicago Gangland hoodlums in our Government's history - they make Al Capone look like a small time hustler...... I cannot in good conscience believe ANYTHING one of the pack of jackals says.

Come the end of January, all the part-timers will be out of a job. Those troops who are coming home, will be out of a job. Sales are not as high as businesses' hoped for. Some existing folks will be laid off or canned. Folks are giving up on looking for a job ( 4.5 people available for every opening ).
Yeah, life's great. Look for more great news. We are being saved once again by our fearless leader. ![]()

There are 6,000,000 less people working now than 3 years ago, in spite of the increase in our population, and many of us who are employed are working way less than 40 hours or are stuck in a just-to-get-by job waiting on all those rainbows and unicorns we were promised. The best thing the president and congress can do to improve the economy is the same thing they did in Jamestown, and the EPA needs to join them too.

Everyone I know is not happy. Everyone i know is working harder and just making ends meet. No more eating out, no more trips, no more nothing for anyone.
He keeps shelling it out like if he keeps telling you what you want to hear it will get better for you. Now he secretly wants to destroy all of us. He has devalued the money we use and he dont actually believe what he is shelling out. He thinks you believe it, after all look at how stupid the masses were just to elect him. He thinks your stupid. The commies are in the white house - period. They got the commie play book and they are going play for play. One more year and he is outta there. He knows it too. Heck he knew it 3 years ago. Just watch what he does in the next 12 months. He is really gona cut our rights with his pen. He is gona wait till the end to do in the gun rights. It's comming i am sure of it. Right now they working on communications and taking down tv and raido that dont agree with them. Now you gotta worry about who really put him in there. Cause they aint gona rest till we are on our knees. If you want to be informed then listen to Wilkow, and Mark Levin. Might need to get sat radio but you will be enlightened. Yea and he does truly think that if he wraps a bow on a turd you will be greatful

I heard that so many people ran out of unemploment benefits that they fell off the statistics as unemployed. So , the Obozo crowd says, "Look, a lot of people are no longer asking for unemployment benefits, so they can now be counted as employed!" And the employment count goes up! POOF! Just like that!

Remember that the unemployment rate is not "how many people don't have jobs?", but "how many people don't have jobs and are actively looking for them?" Let's say you've been looking fruitlessly for five months and realize you've exhausted every job listing in your area. Discouraged, you stop looking, at least for the moment. According to the government, you're no longer unemployed. Congratulations? Most sites on the net are listing the real unemployment rate at 11%. I believe it's closer to 20%! Why do you think Obozo keeps comparing himself to President Roosevelt? Remember that the "official" unemployment rate during the Great Depression was 23%! Roosevelt created millions of government jobs, and created hundreds of Socialist programs to feed those that could not buy their own food. Obozo is looking to do the same thing! Every "shovel ready" job he has come up with will be Government Jobs! Jobs that the tax payers have to support! The clowns in DC are killing this country! I just heard that consumers in America will be spending around 4 Billion dollars for Christmas gifts this year. Almost none of it Made in America!

I ran my unemployment benefits completely out, without one call for an interview. I guess I'm old enough that they figure I'm only good for another ten years or so and they'll have to look for a replacement! I've got good job skills and references along with a decent enough work history, it's just that for every job there's 200 applications. So I gave up, and was thankful that I had a Federal disability annuity coming in to help with the bills. Then the wife got hurt at work, had to quit, Workman's comp said it was a work-related injury then backpedaled and denied...so had to file a lawsuit, and who knows when that'll get settled, so far just a bunch of runaround from attorneys for the insurance company. The state even looked at her records and approved her for disability in less than six months, with no attorney's involved at all, I think that might be a record here...
It's all manipulation of numbers. They get the numbers that they need and toss the rest, most of them just randomly made up. I'm sure that I'm not on anyones list as unemployed anymore simply because I'm not on unemployment any longer. They just count on the sheeple's continuing to believe...pay no attention to that man behind the curtain mentality. |

Pumping more virtual green paper into the economy creates the illusion of prosperity. But what it really means is that we all have less - devaluing the currency has that effect - we call it "inflation". That's how Democratic presidents have traditionally gotten re-elected and paid national war debt for pennies on the dollar. We'll pay for it about six years out in a big way. You kids are probably too young to remember what Kennedy and Johnson did to the economy - and how much trouble Nixon and Ford had in getting things under marginal control again. We're still paying for the "boom years" of the early 1960's and Vietnam. Clinton did pretty much the same thing (as well as having shipped all our manufacturing capability to China and putting huge numbers of Americans out of work).
