I don't know, yet. #3 son is having us over and hasn't said what he has in store for us.

However, he has a new beer he brewed that he says is VERY good and I'm taking one of my last bottles of Mosel. He and DIL are both very good cooks. I've always been very pleased with whatever they offer up.

Christmas should be a heck of a time this year. My family is blessed with a new family member, my nephew, for his first Christmas. Food should be good but the real treat is being with my great family.

Christmas dinner is a big deal for us, not only for the reason it is Christmas and we are all together......but also it is my son's birthday.

We go all out with prime rib, crab legs, and shrimp.......and I'm thinking about grilling some salmon this year.

We'll have smoked butt, fried okra(granddaughters favorite), green beans, zipper peas, cole slaw, mac-n-cheese, rolls, sweet tea, and for dessert, cheese cake.

We are taking a rest from seafood this year except for gumbo the day after Christmas.

No offense cyclone - but that is exactly backward for the traditional "southern" holiday meals!

New Years is ham, blackeyed peas (for luck) and either turnips or collard greens (for money).

Yea but you see the turkey is still frozen and the ham is not. Thats how that came about. I remember years past for new years we would fry fish and oysters with venison on the bbq.

I will probably make some Hamburger Helper since they don't make Turkey Helper!! My wife will probably spend the whole day at her Church (the Korean folks eat every Sunday) and since my Church has just a morning worship service I will be home way before she will.

for Christmas it is surf and turf for me too. Ribeye steaks and lobster tails. My mother came up with that idea about 15 years ago and my wife & I have stayed true.

We started a new tradition last year for Christmas Eve and do Mexican food. I don't like tamales, so we do tacos, cheese enchiladas, chicken flautas, guacamole, and refried beans. All homemade.

We'll probably head over to one of the Boats in Shreveport, or Bossier. Looks like King Crab, Prime Rib, and what ever else we want! New years day I'm cooking a venison roast, black eyed peas, corn bread, and big pot of turnips, and greens.

Women in the south don't need a recipe to cook fried chicken, they're born with it in their head.

We just got home from having our Christmas dinner. We met up at my sister's hpuse so we had the whole family plus Songman came over. I ate until my arms got tired. Now, I need a nap. Don't ask me what all I had because there was so much, I can't remember. Then there was a table of deserts. I had to pass.

We just got home too! Deserts? I had a bowl of bread pudding with Jack Daniels sauce laced with chopped pecans! Don't even want to know what my blood sugar is!
