The Model 42 first entered production in 1933. It has been issued in several different grades starting with the standard which I think yours is. Going on to the skeet, Trap, Deluxe and even a Pigeon grade. There is considerable collector interest in these shotguns and of course condition and grade means every thing. Standard grade guns depending on condition will range from $1000 to $2000 unless it is worn badly and the fancier grades go up from there with some fetching over $10,000. With spreads like that you can imagine that each example would have to be closely evaluated.
