Took my new 10/22 with a 22" barrel to the gun range . Shot that 50 yds with Armscor precision HP . ( the photo is not my gun but one like it) A 5 shot group was .978.

Good shooting John. It is 19 degrees with blowing snow or I would be out shooting my 10/22 also. I am envious of your being able to get out and shoot.

What distance 25 yards and the barrel is SS but the recieve is aluminum painted. The longer barrel does make for a nicer than average ruger . Good look'n rifle.

Didn't take long for these WalMart specials to become a collectors item. My local dealers warehouse never did stock these, nor did the Ruger web site ever list the 22" barrel version. I felt lucky to buy one of the few carried at WalMart. Mine was made just before Ruger painted the barrels and the plastic trigger guard. Really tight 50 yard groups once I found that the front mounting screw was only finger loose. After I snugged it down, the rifle became a real shooter. John, did you find your trigger to be lighter than a std factory carbine ?

No , it was 8 lbs. I took it a part and polished some stuff inside the trigger ( sear and other) and now it has a 4 lb trigger. I can live with that. I all so have a 10/22 carbine but it has the 8 lb trigger. Didn't change it.
