    Hello,

I have decided to put my 1911 Colt on the market. As per the serial number it was manufactured in 1918. Step #1 is to determine value. Step #2 is to locate Collectors.

I am not a 1911 expert but know that the gun is valuable. Yesterday I took it to my regular gun shop and they were blown away. The inspection and discussion lasted over an hour.

The shop believes that the gun is original. Grading is in the eye of the buyer!

I would appreciate feedback regarding VALUE and COLLECTORS.

    Thanks for looking!

Can you, please, post higher resolution better focus pics(please use "macro" setting on your camera) in natural light without flash, including the pics of the grip straps?
    Thanks!

Very nice. I've SEEN slightly poorer condition 1918 vintage pieces sell in the $1800 to $2200 range, over the past 3 years.

    Thanks for the new pics...
It appears all original to me. If the rear grip strap is as good as the front, then it is indeed a high condition pistol...with some wear on the left side of the slide being the main detraction.
I would guess about $2750 mid retail...
