I am a machinist, pistolsmith and have taken on a spare time project (no money maker, more of a challange) I have a raw slide casting and am wondering if the original blueprints/dimensional drawings are available in the public domain? I specifically need info on the dinensions of the slide ways, fireing pin/ extractor holes, etc. Also does any information exist on heat treating specs on these pistol parts? I realize this is dependent on material used in the casting. Thanks for any help. CORTMAN

Welcome cortman. My this would be a great post for one of our former members of the forum and late friend Mr. Terry (stash247) He was a very knowledeable man on the subject of 1911s having worked under the influence of Armand Swenson himself. Armand Swenson is one of the gret names associated with 1911 patterns and mentored such greats as Wayne Novak and helped him to become the success he is today. RIP stash. And once again, welcome to the madness Cortman;)
