Comparing apples and oranges. Glocks are so simple cavemen can use them. Basically an idiot's gun if you will. Learning to shoot is 50% of the fun. I prefer the 1911 :D

Mike, you spoiled my surprise.:confused::)
  5. Sam? Now Mike, Sam would never do anything like that!!!! He'd just ask if they were dishwasher safe or some other jealous comment typical of 1911 owners who prefer pistols that cost twice the price of the gun just to get them to shoot more or less downrange. :D;)

:::::::digging foxhole much deeper before I end up cleaning the latrines AGAIN!::::: ;)

You just have to know that Gaston got it right with the Glock. Every gun related forum you visit has a "Glock v. 1911" thread. This would not be the case if the Glock was an inferior design. I think that a Glock holds its own against a 1911. It is what it is, a great dependable and accurate pistol at a reasonable price.

First I have to agree with Jacksonco, my son has carried the same one on duty for 20 years. We were still carring revolvers when I retired 21 years ago. Saying all of that I'm a 1911 fan having owned them for 50 yrs. Currently I have a Springfield SS Loaded, Colt, LTW Commander, Taurus 1911, and a RIA receiver with a Ciener Platinum 22 conversion. Then wanting a smaller pistol but on a 1911 platform got a Para Carry Nine. Like them all and have not had any problems with them.
