I have a few 1911s all but one has the three dot sights. The other one has the standard GI sights. I'm not liking the three dot set up and I shoot better with the GI set up, but thats not really what I like either. I would like to here some new ideas about 1911 sights and were I can find them. Thanks

What kind of 1911? Yes it makes a difference b/c adjustable rears are nice but depending on the dovetail you have it may not be a option. The best option I have seen is using a LPA (PSI) adjustable rear with a dawson precision front FO. Bomar style rears are better b/c they have more adjustment but you have to mill the slide to allow room for the sight. Most target shooters go with a FO front with a black blade rear but its all about preference.

I like my meprolight night sights. It's dots, but the main part of the sight is black with a white ring around the tritium. Seems to be a good sight for day or night for me. I dont have much experience with many others, so I cant reccomend any more than that,

I have a)one 3-dot, b)one adjustable black rear sight and FO front, and c)one fixed black rear sight and night sight front. Your choices depend on your gun and its purpose. The FO is really easy to pick up but not so good to carry. All around, c) suits me best. My eyes have seen enough years that I have to have something other than a black front sight! Find some to look at (in person) to aid in your decision.
