Full length rod, rear aperture sight, and a bunch of small tricks. Has SA cartouche crossed cannons on right front of slide. Feels great in the hand, unfired at this time. I traded for it, asking price $1000.00, no money changed hands just guns. I'm happy and he's happy. Just wondering about the gun's pedigree? Berto

    Not hardly, Hon,
This guy is closing up and moving to MO. The aucton will be Aug. 17 here in Marsing. I've got dibbs on a couple of other items in his store. Fellow vet, USMC. BTW, he got equal value in the deal. I just don't have as many 1911 clones. Berto
SP....Took it to desert and fired after post thread. Works perfect, but shoots about a foot low at 25 ft. I don't think the new sights have been worked out. I get to have more fun!!

I wouldn't dream of thinking you didn't give as good as you got berto when it came to trading. Have no doubt it was fair all the way around.

But why would he want to go to MO??? Good luck at working with the sights - cause that's too low to be shooting at that short distance.

He & his wife say they have been in one spot long enough, and it's time to be somewhere else.
He said they're going somewhere in the neighborhood of Branson. They're selling the property, inventory and he's struggling with letting some of his private collection go, too. Berto

Oh man that is hard letting go of some of a collection. I hope he gets top dollar for it.

He mentioned a National Match M-1 (30-06) with bucu match ammo today, but he's still not sure whether it'll go or not. I think he said he'd ask less than 2 K for it, if he decides to go that way. I've set claim on a Daisy VL 22, and a shortened (legal) JC Higgins Mod 20 12 ga. I'm crazy fer them Higginses. Berto

The Daisy sounds like a nice gun berto64. Good luck on getting them both.

Me I seem to have gotten the bug for Berettas (serves me right for buying 2 already). Now I want the Beretta in a .380.

    "T"
The best 380 is the Colt series..Lock up just like a 1911 and
don't need a heavy duty recoil spring..Most of them shoot real
good also..Too bad colt dropped them from production..
    Govt. mod and mustang,great guns...

But Bompa it wouldn't be a Beretta!

Actually at the rate I'm going I'll end up collecting more than one of everything. So thank you for the recommendation.

Springfield Armoury production in Staynless,Brazil is where the frame was produced for Springfield, discounting the expense of added features, new value would be some where around $650.00-$700.00 retail, You may wish to check with the Antique Dr. up on the "whats it worth" section.

    Tyrvr,
It's had an aperture rear sight, custom thumb safety, slide lock and has adjustable trigger, also been polished
into a very smooth operator. It's a beauty. I am now thinking like I wished it was black, tho.

TLynn and Bompa, Traded for a Colt 380 Mustang this weekend for my wife. Good shooting pistol so far. I can hit 12" steel plates at 25 yds pretty easy with it.

    Looks like a mini 1911.

Sore gonna miss the wife though!!! LOL!

Tlynn, Here is a Colt 380 Mustang.

This is like I got this weekend, except I got blued finish. Frame has about a three finger grip. Small little pocket or wait band pistol. Will go nice in the wife's purse.

    Tuckerd,,,
I do believe your wife will be very pleased with the Mustang,it is a pleasure to shoot..Notice you got one with an after market recoil spring guide rod,has it got a single recoil spring?
CDDN had some ss magazines for that at about $6.99 each, not
    colt but they worked fine..
The pony would be a good pocketbook gun except for the terrible trigger pull,I believe it would be too much for most women..I only mention that as a double action is a little more
comfortable to carry with a round in the chamber..Doesn't shoot as well as the mustang though..
    Enjoy it,I do mine...

Would look sharp with ivory grips....

Bompa, These are photos of a different pistol. Mine is blue with the plastic guide rod, which I'll probably change. I'm going to buy some extra mag so the wife can practice a lot without reloading the same mag all the time.

BTW, where is the best place for good inexpensive practice ammo?

Tuckerd, you should be able to pick up something at the next gun show ,or do some reloading..It's a fun case to load, wouldn't like to try anything smaller..Rainier makes a 95gr
    round nose that works great..
About the metal FLGR am not sure it is worth the money, have one in the pony and original in mustang and they both work alright..
The metal one comes with a single recoil spring and it doesn't
seem to hold up,if memory is correct the spring should be changed after 500 rounds..
Did I say that CDDN has mags for about 7 bucks, they are aftermarket but seem to work alright..The only problem with that company is the high postage..
Hope this is of some help..
    Henry

Bompa, I've used CDNN a couple of times for 1911 parts. Pretty fast at delivery and got what I wanted. Everybody is trying to make money on shipping these days. Look at Midway, with their new policy they have some of the highest prices going now. Don't use them anymore.
