I have a Walther PP 7.65, Serial Number 274997P, which I believe ws produced in 1942, with Test Proof Stamp Eagle over N, Acceptance Stamp Eagle over WaA359, and Waffenfabrik Walther Zella Mehlis (Thur) on the slide. The magazine has a flat bottom and is stamped Walther PP 7,65 m/m

I would like to get an idea of what it is worth.

The gun was made in 1942 and appears to be in excellent condition. Some sources say that the guns with serial numbers on the slide are special contract guns (SS, RSHA, etc.) but that one was clearly accepted by the Heeres Waffenant, the army weapons office. 359 is the number of the head of the inspection team at Walther.

Others may also help, but my WAG on value would be around $800.

Walther started numbering slides externally around 220XXXK on PPs, so in the absence of "waffenamts" it would have been a "commercial" gun.
This one is, of course, an army procurred gun, as Jim pointed out..
Agree on $800 mid retail value...

I just have to say it. A Waffen proofed early war PP would go for 1500 or more, when the market is right.

Thanks for the valuations, little did I know when I bought the Walther in 1968 for $45.00 that I had made an investment.

My father served in the Army and bought the same gun in Germany at the end of WWII.
    Cost $5.00 in the 40's
