I recently inherited a 1945 H&R Topper M48 12 gauge shotgun in reasonably good shape. What chamber length did these shotguns have? Was it for 2 3/4" shells or a now obsolete shell? Thank you in advance!

    Mad,
Welcome to the forum - stick with 2 3/4" shells - 1945 wasn't that far back in the dim past. LOL!

    Mad,
Just out of curiosity - how did you date your M48 to 1945??? I'd like the info for my research - needs lots of info on the single shot shotguns - building some sort of data base (half-fast as it is).
